Europractice Software Service Supplied Tools for MEMS Design

The Europractice Software Service provides European universities and academic research institutes with access to industry-standard electronic and microsystem design automation tools for teaching and non-commercial research activities.

This European Commission initiative, managed by the Microelectronics Support Centre, CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, has offered 17 years of continuous service, and currently administers and supports the use of design tools at over 600 university and academic research institutes.

The portfolio of design automation tools accessible through the scheme encompasses packages from the majority of leading industrial providers. Scheme-supplied tools typically employed in MEMS design flows for layout editing, process modelling, and systems-level and finite element simulation, are available from the following vendors: Coventor, PhoeniX, SoftMEMS, and Tanner EDA.

Detailed descriptions of the MEMS design tools supplied through the Europractice Software Service, as well as membership and ordering information, is available on the scheme’s website: http://www.msc.rl.ac.uk/europractice/.
