Every course attendee ^(*) - it doesn't matter which course you attended- can take part in this design contest and submit a paper or design with a MEMS/SiP design proposal. The best design will then be selected and will get a discount for a MEMS software license or a MPW fabrication run.

The novel category is for course participants who are novel to MEMS −and don’t have acces to MEMS CAD/FEA tools. The requirement is to write a paper with a design proposal. The paper should explain the concept, include first order calculations to prove the feasibility and illustrate the functioning of the device. The possible fabrication by one of the MPW technologies offered by the STIMESI partners must be clearly shown.

The advanced category is for course participants with MEMS experience who do have acces to MEMS CAD/FEA tools: They are challenged to send in a full design, ready for Tape-Out for one of the MPW technologies offered by the STIMESI partners. Besides the layout files −which should be DRC checked− the participant should deliver a short overview of the device, including modelling and simulation results.
